exposed
an entire roll of film,

lost exposures of
mangled toes,

and the negatives
in a mess on the floor,

I threw away.

You destroyed and nearly lost
your favorite pair of shoes,

I can barely salvage my new boots.

Even as you laid in the tall grass,

and I
looked to the moon.

A blank roll from the one hour photo
left you without
proof.

Imperfect as it is,
the time spent has more worth

when this night ends,
when it comes down to it.
